Patrick Stufflebeam is a founding partner of Stufflebeam|Johnson LLC and is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Missouri. Patrick concentrates his practice on the defense of complex civil litigation claims, including toxic tort (asbestos, talc, ethylene oxide, PFAS, and benzene), cannabis litigation, commercial litigation, premises liability, product liability, and insurance coverage. Patrick also assists with corporate formation, acquisition, and contract matters. Patrick is proud to represent individuals, family-owned businesses and farms, and some of our country’s largest corporations.

Patrick serves in a National Coordinating Counsel role for asbestos litigation and has identified, prepared, and defended numerous corporate representative depositions. Patrick assists with the design and completion of multi-million-page document projects. Patrick designs and implements various alternative fee arrangements.

Patrick also counsels clients on cybersecurity and privacy issues, including developing cybersecurity and privacy policies and assisting clients in the management of those risks. Patrick counsels clients on compliance with state laws such as Illinois’ Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) and Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Patrick assists clients with the investigation and response to cyber incidents, including breach-response notifications.

Jason Johnson is a founding partner of Stufflebeam|Johnson LLC and is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Missouri. Jason specializes in complex commercial litigation, having represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of legal disputes. He has significant litigation experience in state and federal courts with first chair trial experience in multiple jury trials and bench trials. The wide variety of claims that Jason handles range from defamation claims to complex commercial disputes.

Jason has extensive experience in construction litigation, and has represented many developers, contractors, subcontractors and engineers in both the defense and prosecution of claims involving both small and large construction projects. He also taught the Construction Contracts course as an adjunct professor at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville from 2017 to 2022.

Jason is experienced in corporate litigation (including professional corporations) such as shareholder and partner disputes, contested corporate dissolutions and successor liability issues, as well as professional liability. He has significant experience representing both defendants and plaintiffs in products liability actions, and has represented clients in mass actions and class actions in state and federal courts. Jason also represents and advises clients regarding employment law matters, and has significant litigation experience involving employment disputes.

Wayne Skigen is a partner of Stufflebeam|Johnson LLC and is licensed to practice law in Illinois. Wayne represents individuals, businesses, and not-for-profit entities, as plaintiffs and defendants, in a wide variety of civil matters, including complex commercial, corporate and partnership litigation, in connection with disputes relating to governance, fiduciary duties, privacy rights, “business divorces,” employment claims, real estate transactions, officer and director liability, enforcement and avoidance of covenants not to compete, buy-outs of ownership interests, acquisitions and distributorships.

Wayne has litigated complex civil matters and has tried and arbitrated many high-stakes and high-profile cases to successful conclusions. He has repeatedly been named an Illinois Super Lawyer® and an Illinois Leading Lawyer®.

As a litigator with four decades of experience in high-stakes, complex cases, Wayne has participated in countless mediations resulting in successful outcomes, and he has demonstrated an understanding of how to facilitate productive negotiations. Wayne has built on that experience and obtained training as a mediator in immersive programs from providers such as the American Arbitration Association and has obtained numerous court appointments as a mediator. Wayne is on the panel of approved mediators for the Mandatory Mediation Programs of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. Wayne remains available to serve as a mediator throughout Illinois and the St. Louis Metropolitan Area.

Jeff Muskopf specializes in complex commercial and civil litigation, having represented a diverse individual and corporate client base in a wide range of civil litigation cases. Jeff is solution-oriented and strives to represent his clients in a thoughtful, efficient, and highly effective manner. In over three decades of practice, Jeff has gained substantial experience in a wide variety of substantive legal areas, as well as significant first-chair trial experience, and mediation and arbitration.
